Stop All The Clocks

Stop All The Clocks Brighton

In the early 2000s a group of us set up the spoken word organisation Stop All The Clocks and applied for a small pot of funding from the Arts Council. We got ourselves a logo and for two years we used this money to run live literature events under its auspices, including two Brighton Festival Fringe Literature programmes and the mightily successful yet brutal Poet Idol. We also invented strip poetry with an event called ‘All Mouth, No Trousers’, where performers bought stage time by removing clothing. Eventually our lives took us in different directions, but the memories (and for those who witnessed All Mouth, No Trousers, the mental scars) endure.
