The Library Whisperer
“In the library, there’s this guy, right. Well I ‘m just browsing and this guy asks me if I might like him to read to me? So, I’m like, who is this guy and why does he want to read to me? Well, turns out, the library has him come in for when they’ve got a book promotion on or a themed day and this guy reads selections to you. I mean, not like to an audience, but to you … personally. It’s odd at first, and then you get into the text, and then it’s like being transported to a different time and place; and just for a few minutes you’re there, and it’s like when you go to a movie matinée and you watch the movie, and then you come out into the light and just for a moment reality feels like fiction.”
