For three years in a row, with my partner-in-rhyme Mr Sticks (Justin Coe), I provided educational entertainment for the good people of Kent.
In 2004 we performed a 90 minute interactive family poetry show ‘The World Word Championships’ throughout July and August at Broadstairs, Canterbury, Maidstone, Chatham, Folkestone and Isle of Sheppey.
In 2005 we performed an entirely new (and even more interactive) 90 minute show ‘Word of Sport’ through the summer holidays at Ashford, Herne Bay, Maidstone, Whitstable, Folkestone and Isle of Sheppey.
In 2006, our final offering (partially in French and made possible by EU funding) ‘Vacances en France’, was played at various outdoor venues in Canterbury, Maidstone, Chatham, Folkestone, Rochester and the Isle of Sheppey. After this, we were exhausted, and went to lie down for a bit.
As Constable Sticks and Detective Sargeant Stones, we have also delivered a two-day themed local history and puzzle-solving project for Years 7/8, called ‘Detecting the Past’.
